Shop My Closet

I started a shop my closet on Instagram today.  I have collected far too much stuff, so I'm selling womens clothes of all sizes, accessories, shoes, mens ties, 1 little girls dress, and some other stuff.  Go check it out online here or find it on the app @malloryscloset.  Shipping is included so it's super cheap!!!  I plan to keep adding more as stuff sells.

Go forth and treat yo self (for cheap).  Love, Mallory

Vintage Christmas Shopping

This is the 5th Christmas I've spent with Brian!  The past few years we've gone to our favorite antique malls to start our Christmas shopping (last year).  This year we bought quite a few presents at the Ohio Valley Antique Mall, but there was so much more I wished we could have bought.  I really wanted that hot pink Cincinnati clock for myself!  Love, Mallory

Perks Reading List

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of my favorite books.  It's a beautiful coming of age story, and honestly I think it helped me get through high school with hope.  In the book the main character, Charlie, is mentored by his English teacher Bill (in the movie Bill was played by Paul Rudd ♥).  He gives Charlie extra books to read outside of class and write reports on.

These are the books: To Kill a Mockingbird, This Side of Paradise, A Separate Peace, Peter Pan, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, On the Road, Naked Lunch,Walden, Hamlet, The Stranger, and The Fountainhead.

As a challenge to read more I'm attempting to read all of the books Bill assigned.  I've already read a To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, and Hamlet in high school.  I guess I'm a third of the way there.  If you'd like to join me in this reading challenge leave a comment & blog about it too if you'd like.  Also, if you haven't read Perks you really should!  The movie exceeded my expectations as a fan of the book.  I saw it in the theater twice.  Love, Mallory

Tuesday Tunes- Merry Christmas

Hello duders!  I'm going to go through some of my favorite Christmas songs (also, check out Mallory's 2012 Christmas playlist).  I know that every Christmas song has been done 3 million times by every artist, but I'm still a sucker for them.  This weekend Mallory and I found a Christmas cd I made her last year with all these great songs.  It has some by Bright Eyes, Sleeping At Last, Copeland, My Morning Jacket, and a ton of others, and we were so happy to find it!
I Can Make A Mess - Please Come Home For Christmas
This is one of my favorite artists doing a pretty solid song.  It's not all cheery and merry, but it seems heartfelt, which I think is hard to do with a Christmas song since they can easily off cheesy.
Hellogoodbye - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
I think this may be the most fitting song for Hellogoodbye.  They pulled it off so well with their style.  Their singer/main songwriter, Forest, always seems to do things a little differently.  Also, it's a long way from where they started with songs like Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn.
Sleeping At Last - Silver Bells
Most of you know I have a love for Sleeping At Last.  I think what Ryan does musically is always amazing and honest.  Silver Bells is probably my favorite Christmas song he's done.  On a side note, he just released news about a new musical project called Atlas.  You should really check it out.
Nat King Cole - Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire
Just for fun, here's my all time favorite Christmas Song.  I could listen to it a 1,000 times every year and it would never get old.
I hope you all have the best Christmas this year!  Please remember to be thankful for everything and keep those who need it most right now (including Sandy Hook) in your thoughts and prayers this holiday.  I'll probably catch you guys next year!  -Brian

Lost in the Shuffle

Last Christmas my parents got me this little 35mm film Blue Ribbon Camera.  This Easter my family went to my grandparents' farm.  There isn't much to do there, so Brian and I just wandered around their land and tried it out.  My grandpa's barn at the top got hit by a tornado early this spring and lost it's metal roof.  That's why you can see straight through it!

I got the photos developed soon after Easter but forgot that I had a cd until recently.  The digital files look better because the prints look muddy when the digital files have this fantastic graininess.  I didn't change these photos at all in photoshop, besides a little cropping.  xo, Mallory

Tuesday Tunes- 2012 Favorites

So, I missed last week.  We were just having too much fun in Disney World!  Plus, the wi-fi stunk.  This week I'm going to go through a few of my favorite albums of 2012.  I'm not very good at choosing my absolute favorite because I'm always a litte indecisive, and that's just too hard of a decision for me.

Frank Ocean- Channel Orange
I just got in this album maybe a month or so ago, and I know it took me a while, but I'm glad I finally listened to it.  It's been quite a while since I've heard an R&B album this good.

Japandroids- Celebration Rock
Their band name is awesome, but their music is even better!  When I listen to this record it always makes me want to party.  By party, I mean wreak havoc and blow up fireworks with my friends.  I especially like Evil's Sway.

Passion Pit- Gossamer
This could easily be my favorite album of 2012.  I'm pretty sure I've all ready blogged about it once, but oh well, it's that good!  I think there was a moment when I literally only listened to it for 2 weeks. I really enjoy "I'll Be Alright."

What were some of your favorite albums from this year? -Brian

That Time of Year

I looked at my calendar this morning and was overwhelmed by the amount of holiday events on there!  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and the happiest/busiest month there is.  Next week is my last week at Amazon and then my last, first day of school is January 7th!!!!!!!!!  Life is exciting.  Love, Mallory

Disney Overload

My whole family just got home from Disney World as our Christmas present from my (super fantastic, amazing, awesome) parents.  You can see the whole gang above, even though my nephew Beckett was sleeping.  We had an absolute blast!  I tried my hardest to only blog my favorites, but all of the photos were just so special to me!

My favorite part of this vacation was seeing how excited the newbies were.  Brian and I got some awesome Wall-e and Eve pins and wore them every day.  This was the first of our family vacations that Brian has gone on, and 7 days is the longest I've ever spent with him.  Good news: we didn't get sick of each other!  Oh, and the Christmas festivities in Disney were AMAZING!  The weather was amazing too, so being home is slightly depressing.  xo, Mallory
