Spoonflower

I really love Spoonflower!  If you don't know what that is it's a website where you can send your own designs and they'll put it on fabric for you.  You can also buy other people's fabrics.  I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before.  I think I'll add designing and entering their contests to my list of boredom things to do in Missouri.  I really hate the idea of free time.  Well, I will once I finish Dexter Seasons 4 & 5.  I need to re-route my Netflix speaking of...

I'm rambling again.   Here is a shirt Spoonflower has up for sale.  I think it's awesome, but I have ALWAYS loved tees, and have always had a million.
Power to the crafty!

Mallory ♥ Brian---- Part 2

Guess who's boyfriend can take a hint?

PICK ME<> PICK ME!

I should probably also mention that I really love that my isight camera works again haha.
I just took a short break from sewing to open this package up.  If you have no idea what I'm holding look at this post.

Bed now, then sewing again in the morning!
Mallory ♥ Sewing too!!  Almost as much as I love Brian :)

Of course I love you all too!  Thanks for your views and comments.  I enjoy checking everyone else's blogs and such out!

Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins

I'm buried up to my eyes in threads and fabrics and buttons and zippers.  I wouldn't have it any other way!

I leave in less than a week for a special place in Missouri!  I'll give you one more hint as to where I'm going... my boss/partner in the venture is a super popular blogger.

Hopefully all of the skirts I'm making will be done by then.  Or maybe I should save all my button sewing for when my mom is taking the driving shifts on my way there.  Mom's roadtrippin it with me then riding back with my Dad who is following us there (overkill... maybe, but very sweet).  I may have to visit my summer boss Deb next week to use her button holer.  If my buttons weren't free I wouldn't be using shank ones and I could use her button sewing machine, too. Dang.

Ah welp.  Back to work xoxo!

PUPPIES!

My friends' boxer had a litter of puppies a while ago, and they are just so squanchy!  I love them!  They have one that's bigger than the others and he's too cute!

That's all! haha
I'm working on my special project again. I'll pretty much be working on it non-stop before I leave unless it's New Years Eve or I'm packing.  I guess I might as well mention that my special project is a skirt line to sell through my internship! YAY!  You'll be able to buy my garments soon!

Get Excited!!

Wardrobe & Back to Brunette!

This is what I wore to work yesterday + some flats

Lacy sweater- Christmas gift- Mom, from Marshalls
long sleeve tee- F21
khaki skinnies- Old Navy clearance for less than $10!
lace trouser socks- Target via Goodwill

This is a Magi Camel from our nativity.  I love it and wish it was out all year.

Tonight I dyed my hair brown.  I used a darker semi permanent so as my lighter brown hair grows out it should start to match up.  In theory anyway.

before- dark roots (that were a tad darker in real life), dark blonde recent touch up, and light blonde original dye with highlights.

Now.  I also bought a Covergirl lip stain.  My mom gave it a thumbs down, but I'm still finishing up it's test run :)

*NEW FEATURE!* My 5 Favorites- food

As of yesterday I decided that I want to have a new feature.  I'm not choosing a day of the week because I obviously am not too good at sticking to them, so I hope to do this weekly.  Anyway, what will I be sharing weekly?  A list of "5 Favorites!"  Here goes my first list!

My 5 Favorites: Food!
Other than sewing food is my one great love, so here are the foods I can't live without!

1. fresh salsa- yummmm- from home or Chipotle ( I love Chipotle so much).  Throwing in a mention here that I enjoy all things with tomatoes, particularly fried green tomatoes!
 2. BACON (need I say more...)
3. Nutella- hazelnut and cocoa... in butter form?  Yes please!  Every day on a spoon!  I should also mention that Nutella on a bagel with bananas is glorious!!
4. avocados/guacamole- mhmmm!
5. asparagus- I feel asparagus gets a bad rap because most people cook that mushy canned stuff, but fresh asparagus grilled in the oven on a cookie sheet with olive oil, salt, and fresh ground pepper is awesome.  Usually there is juice left over and if you have a nice crusty bread this makes the best bread dipping oil on the planet!!  Brittany and I always get every last drop :)

Yep, so those are my favorite foods!  I have a major sweet tooth, and I'm not very picky.  In my house you had to at least try everything, unlike most kids these days!

Bloomin Genius.

I love wearing dresses, but I have a long body, and I'm ALWAYS self conscious that my butt is hanging out.  I was looking through some sold items in Nenee's etsy shop, and I saw these bloomers and thought... I need like 5 of these!

I think i shall make myself some!  I mean I already have a sloper, so it would be sooooo super easy!

This will be my next personal sewing project.

Christmas photos- with 1 wardrobe in the mix

Eve of the eve
This day I picked up my computer with a brand new top half from the apple store.  Since my photobooth now works Madison and I had some fun.

She's so pretty :)

Christmas Eve!
Brittany and I

Brian said I looked like I should be on Mad Men.  I'm sure my cocktail didn't help  (Mom made clementine cosmos! yum)!

About my outfit:
pearl necklace- antique that my Aunt Sue gifted me for my hs graduation
mod/contemporary dress- TJ Maxx- b-day gift from Mom
tights- Betsey Johnson TJ Maxx
shoes- Thrifted target oxford pumps

Mom also made ice cream sundaes to look like snowmen and apple cranberry hand pies
 here is Carter enjoying his.
All of the gifts Brian, Brittany, and I gave out.  The living room was COVERED on Christmas morning!

Mom crocheted us all hats.  Here is Brian's
Brittany got a journal from Brian (anthropologie) among other things
Dad being VERY excited over the Ford shirt Brian got him

Christmas Morning!

First thing I won the pickle ornament gift, then Dash showed off the horn and Bumblebee Santa brought him.
Mom Santa gives very pretty presents!
Sarah very excited over Florence and the Machine
Dad got Mom a Nintendo DS, so she had to wait to open this case from Brian until the morning
A Hudepohl Gold light I bought my dad in Lebanon this summer (I plan ahead)
Dash annoyed that I stuck a nametag on his forehead
Ben post-pumped that I made him a terrarium with handmade clay mushrooms and a gnome.  Best handmade gift from this year if I'm allowed to say that myself
The aftermath....

I got a The Shins record from Brian (among other things like Mad Men season 1 and the Game of Things) and a Bon Iver record from his brother Brad.  So, today I'm giving them a listen while cleaning!

Byes for now!
:)

Does anybody know...

the REAL meaning of Christmas?!

This Christmas remember to tell the ones you love how much you appreciate them, with words not just a present, remember that there are people less fortunate than you, remember to say a little prayer of thanks, and most importantly:
MERRY CHRISTMAS CHARLIE BROWN!
(To me this photo confirms that I should be a brunette in the winter.  I look super pasty.  To-do list for next week)

Have a great holiday!

Wardrobe- Princess Leia?

Here in Northern Ky it is stinking cold.  We have had over 10" more snow this month than December averages.  The temperature has only been over freezing like 2 days in the past 3 weeks.  BRRRR!!! I've been seriously layering.

Here is what I am wearing now!

shirt- Old Navy
suede leather vest- Vintage- thrifted
purple pants- PacSun- though when I go in there now I feel like such an adult
rain boots (to trek in the snow)- birthday gift, Target

I'm going to bed.  I've had to be at work at & all week and tomorrow is my last early morning.
xoxo, Mallory
