Wardrobe Pictures

I hope you enjoyed Brian's guest Icon Thursday!
He's quirky and I love him.
I must say that I like slicked back hair on some men, including JGL :)

Today I had time between classes and used my car hood as a tripod and took these next to the parking lot at Daap.  People stared. Oh well.
So, this is what I wore today:

Dress: Converse One Star from thrift store (Brian bought it for me)
button up shirt: TJ Maxx
leggings with zippers at hem: TJ Maxx
tooled belt: vintage Etsy
floral ballet flats: Wally World

This is the outfit I wore yesterday

Necklace: gift from Brian- I think he got it on Etsy
top & jeggings: TJ Maxx
cable knit socks: Target
boots: Piperlime

No vintage... sad!
I'm having a hard time transitioning into the cold. yuck.

Nighty night

Style Icon Thursday- Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Hey there. This is Brian, and I am guest blogging for Mallory's style icon Thursday. I volunteered to do this post, and hopefully I will do a few more in the future.
I decided to do Joseph Gordon-Levitt for my first one because he is a smooth looking fella, and also because he was in Angels in the Outfield, which is an all time favorite movies of mine. Mallory suggests I have a man-crush on him. Don't believe her. His popularity has exploded since he starred in 500 Days of Summer with one of Mallory's favorite people, Zooey Deschanel. His style sense is radical, and he seems to be dressed up most of the time. If I ever get around to buying a suit, I may base the style of it from something he has worn.
Good sweater with the tie and dress shirt under.
This is something I do often when dressing up.

One of our favorite movies, 500 Days of Summer.

I'm not one for long jackets, but this one is legit.

I don't know why he's smoking here. Grossology.

I 100% dig this jacket.

I like the basic striped shirt under the suit jacket.

This suit has a vintage style to it.

I don't think he can grow a full beard.

In Inception, he wore a suit all the time. The slicked back, greasy
hair is not cool though.

I see angels.

That's it for my first guest post.
Enjoy it.

Spring 2011- 3.1 Phillip Lim

Here I go with another spring show!  The things I enjoy about this collection are the unexpected and somewhat girly details, the detached collar, the cutouts (super big for spring!), and the shoes are fantastic.

3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2011 ready to wear:

I love these pants! Also love the dress below so much!

Back to my experimental design presentation!
Yours truly, Mallory

Spring 2011-Anna Sui

I try to hold off on sharing my favorite collections with you until they hit the market, but I feel like the trends for this upcoming spring are totally wearable now.  Here's the first of hopefully a few of my favorite shows:

Anna Sui Spring 2011 ready to wear:
I'm really digging the play on the popularity of feathers from this season.
Cowboys meet Indians meet crochet and ruffles= chic.

I have to sketch out a 30 piece collection for Monday, and I have an experimental design presentation tomorrow.  I feel super creative, but I have a feeling I'll soon feel super tired.

The downfalls of college.

If I was loaded I would have all of these Toms Shoes:

Being a poor college kid has it's perks though.  Right?

Going to bed early tonight.  I'm designing a look inspired by Betty White currently.
Weird?  I think not.

♥ you all for reading,

Where did fall go?

Here in greater Cincinnati it was in the upper 70s Saturday.  Today it was about 55 degrees all day.
I like fall, but I don't like this sudden jump to early winter.
I would have been perfectly happy wearing a coat on campus.
I wore a really cute outfit today including a vintage dress with a strawberry print and rick rack trim.
I was just so cold and bummed when I got home that i took off my oxfords and curled up on the couch for a nap.  Shame on me for not photographing it.

Here are some highlights from last fall:

making s'mores with my cousins!

Chicago with Brian, Lauren, and TJ!

nephew at the pumpkin farm!

Lovely costumes for all! Lauren and Tj were Jack and Jill (I made her jumper and bow), and I did Brian's zombie makeup.

I'm hoping it gets back to the mid 60s here soon for pumpkin hunting, more productive crafting (like yesterday!), making more s'mores, and getting in a few final bike rides.
I'm still not sure what Brian and I are going to dress up as this year.

MPMF and Renaissance Festival

Friday Brian and I decided on a whim to go see O'Brother play at the Midpoint Music Festival downtown on Fountain Square.  Our friends Michael and Austin showed up after I took these pictures.
O'Brother's music rules, but I don't necessarily love the singer's voice.

Genius of Water

On Saturday we got Caribou Coffee.
I think I'm liking them better than Starbucks.  I hope that's not sacrilege.
I especially love their cups.

Then as a family we went to the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
It's extremely campy but still pretty great.

Sarah took and edited these last 4.
I'm sure she has more she hasn't shared with the fb world yet.

Princess.

VICTORY!

On Saturday night at the last minute we decided to go back to mpmf and see Colour Revolt.
They were one of the best live bands I've seen.
Brian and Michael kept saying that both of the bands sounded dirty in the best way possible.
The rest of the bands we happened on were pretty bad, and when we went to see Pomegranates the venue was 21+.
I turn 21 in 6 weeks and 1 day, and Michael is a year younger than me.
Oh well!
