I picked my mom up from school today and we stopped at Walgreens and decided to color our hair. Here are my results (she of course would not allow photos of hers).

Before: natural brown with grown out '09 summer hair at bottom.

After: though I think it's a bit lighter than this looks.

I'm pretty happy and the sun will definitely lighten it more :)

Weekend

This weekend I house sat for my sister, and Brian joined because she lives awfully close to Over the Rhine.

On Friday we went to Rudy's and watched The Room which is quite possibly the worst script that has ever been made into a movie. We watched it just to make fun and there was plenty of opportunity. I mean this guy directed, wrote, and starred in it:

Saturday we went to 3 craft/fabric stores looking for the right size rhinestones to go home and realize that I didn't even need more. Then I sewed all day until we watched Pirate Radio (which was awesome) while I glued rhinestones.

Yesterday, Sunday, we watched Brothers then I worked on my red dress.

Brian and I went to my house where Brittany's (middle sister) boyfriend made dinner. yummy. We played Cranium boys v. girls and girls won. Then it took me all 2.5 hourse of Avatar to hem the huge circle skirt. I was finished around 12 though and most of the girls were up all night until 8a.m. when our critique was. It went well. Hopefully I can get you pictures after the big show next Tuesday.

All in all I had a dress and movie filled weekend! Shew! Going to bed early tonight.

Red Dress Update 3?

Until recently I didn't think that I liked dogs. I apparently do! This is Ryker, my sister's dog.

Tonight I worked on the bodice for my Red Dress project. We had our muslin critique on Monday and I got some great feedback. I'm super excited to see exactly how everyone else's will turn out, especially Rachel's. Her's has a giant hand-beaded bow in the back!!

Going to bed. Hopefully I'll have some great post in the a.m.

Classic Chanel Staples

I've done absolutely no homework tonight and went to the Reds game. I consider the night a success. Although tiresome.

If you know me at all or have read any of my posts you know that my style is quite retro and nostalgic. That said, I'm in love with the idea of having a classic Chanel bag. They're just so pretty and versatile! My God mother gave me a vintage strand of hand knotted, real pearls for high school graduation. Maybe a Chanel bag for college graduation? Only dreaming.

Sigh... I'm so broke.

However, I just bought a fair skin starter kit of makeup from Orglamix today. Legit mineral makeup has to be better than the "mineral powder" drugstore brand I'm almost out of currently. I love how the kit comes with a brush set and 2 color foundations so I can mix to my skin tone all year long! Not to mention the 3 shadows, blush, and some other stuff I can't remember are included.

Nifty Thrifty

In order to keep from going insane I try to thrift at least one afternoon a week. May not be the best on my broke college kid budget, but otherwise I'd internet shop anyway. I feel like I'm going through withdrawals at the moment, so I'm gawking at other's thrift store finds on we heart it

Tomorrow I'm going to the Reds game. I have to get through my first economics exam before it. EEK! I can't wait to have a big bratwurst like these!! Hot dogs at the ballpark are the best.
